20th February 2011

There is such an excitement as the 6th March draws near! We get to share in the adventure of the long awaited name change, along with all that goes with it; a future that has been given its direction by God as we "tie the knot" and marry our City... Wow, what a thing!

Isaiah 61:1 - 4 seems to be our guide and motivation for all we look to do. Bring good news, bind up the broken hearted, release those in captivity, comfort all who mourn...

Let's pray this week; firstly that this sense of God setting our future very clearly in place continues through the input of Andrew Thomson this Sunday, and secondly, that hearts are caught with the very obvious call & responsibility we all have towards our city.

God bless,
The Eldership Team

13th February 2011

Lord, may we fix our eyes on You at all times, may we also see Your bride through Your eyes. Captivate us and grip our hearts again, we pray. Father, give us a fuller revelation of Jesus, Your Son.

God, it's wonderful to see what You are doing with us. The gospel is walking into our homes, communities, places of work and the city. Thank you for all those You are adding at all four HCF/CityHill sites. We are looking forward with great expectation to the 6th of March, believing this to be a watershed moment in the life of our Church.

Let's pray for the Prophetic Seminar, right off the back of us becoming CityHill Church. God is sure to speak to us and teach us using Greg Burson. He has a wonderful prophetic gift.

God bless,
The Eldership Team

6th February 2011

2 Corinthians 4:5 "For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." It's all about Him, His glory, His fame.

What a privilege to be ministers of the gospel that has the power to transform people. These are indeed exciting times as we continue to see people accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Close to 400 men attended the men's evening on Monday. Pray that the seed sown would take root in the hearts of those men who came.

Pray for Wayne as he spends time in the UK with Mark and Rose, Cliff and Hayley and also in Italy with Billy and Aileen. Lift up these families and pray for a strengthening and refreshing and that God would add faithful people to them.

God has been challenging us in our spiritual disciplines, let's rise to the challenge and "unstall" in the area of prayer.

God bless,
The Eldership team

30th January 2011

Every year we marvel at how fast time is flying, and 2011 is no different. With the launch of Cato Ridge just this last Sunday, we are most definitely on the move. We were so blessed to experience a packed hall, with only a small amount of standing room free. Over and above the great attendance, we had the privilege of seeing 2 people respond to the Gospel.

Church, we are on a mission; a mission to see more and more people in our city coming to the knowledge of God's saving grace, and putting their faith and trust in Him.

Here are some things to pray for this week:
1. That at all sites we see more visitors and, as we call for a response to Jesus, that we will see lives changed by the good news.

2. Let's pray for Cato Ridge as they begin to plough the ground in that community and see a harvest. Let's pray for boldness and courage as they embark on a new day.

3. We are a month away from the HCF name change. Let's pray that it will be a moment when we can all come together in unity, with vision and passion to see a city changed.

God bless,
The Eldership team

23 January 2011

Most of you have probably started this year with both feet running. We can get caught up in the pace of things and driven by things that need to be done at an ever-increasing pace. It is at these times that we need to constantly remind ourselves that He directs our paths.

Our prayer needs to be the same prayer Moses asked of God. Exodus 33:13 "Please show me now Your ways, that I may know You in order to find favour in Your sight."

Ask God for a year where your path is sure-footed in what He has called you to do; that this is a time to "unstall", as we were encouraged by the Word on Sunday.

Pray that His Word will be the fuel that fans into flame the passion and desire to see His Kingdom come and His will be done in our lives.

Pray for the various ministries commencing (see Outline of events email) and the small groups that are starting up again; that many would find and enjoy community.

This Sunday sees the launch of the Cato Ridge site. Pray for that community, and that many would come to hear the good news of the Gospel of Jesus.
There is much to pray for, pray, pray and pray again.

God bless,
The Eldership team

9th January 2011

Welcome to 2011! We're looking forward to an exciting year and, together, we want to commit this year to the Lord.

* We want to rely on God because we need Him.
* We want to hear His clear direction as we move forward.
* We want to take His heart into the communities that we connect with.
* We want to be a people who are filled with the joy of serving God.

Let's also pray for the Cato Ridge site: for the existing congregation as they make many changes, for John and Kirsty as they take on the leadership of the site, for the smooth running of the pre-launch event, and for the many people involved in the practical details. We thank God for preparing the way for us.

Matthew 17:20 "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

God, please fill our hearts with faith!

God bless,
The Eldership team
