23 January 2011

Most of you have probably started this year with both feet running. We can get caught up in the pace of things and driven by things that need to be done at an ever-increasing pace. It is at these times that we need to constantly remind ourselves that He directs our paths.

Our prayer needs to be the same prayer Moses asked of God. Exodus 33:13 "Please show me now Your ways, that I may know You in order to find favour in Your sight."

Ask God for a year where your path is sure-footed in what He has called you to do; that this is a time to "unstall", as we were encouraged by the Word on Sunday.

Pray that His Word will be the fuel that fans into flame the passion and desire to see His Kingdom come and His will be done in our lives.

Pray for the various ministries commencing (see Outline of events email) and the small groups that are starting up again; that many would find and enjoy community.

This Sunday sees the launch of the Cato Ridge site. Pray for that community, and that many would come to hear the good news of the Gospel of Jesus.
There is much to pray for, pray, pray and pray again.

God bless,
The Eldership team

9th January 2011

Welcome to 2011! We're looking forward to an exciting year and, together, we want to commit this year to the Lord.

* We want to rely on God because we need Him.
* We want to hear His clear direction as we move forward.
* We want to take His heart into the communities that we connect with.
* We want to be a people who are filled with the joy of serving God.

Let's also pray for the Cato Ridge site: for the existing congregation as they make many changes, for John and Kirsty as they take on the leadership of the site, for the smooth running of the pre-launch event, and for the many people involved in the practical details. We thank God for preparing the way for us.

Matthew 17:20 "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

God, please fill our hearts with faith!

God bless,
The Eldership team
